Because we are based in Ibiza and are primarily (initially) targeting Ibiza and Spain with our services it is more important for us to be #1 on Google.es than Google.co.uk or even Google.com.

Hence we set Google”s Webmaster Controls geo-targeting to Spain a few weeks back after leaving it not set during the initial setup. The difference this makes is that it seems to give a slight boost on your chosen index, but at the expense of a slight drop on the others.

And bizarrely enough, whilst the other indexes remain slightly harder to crack, this is exactly how we were ideally intending this search result should eventually look.
