Has anybody else noticed randomness from Google’s indexing procedures recently? We have a new page SEO Power first cached on 27.02 that we are expecting great things from. The last 2 such pages are SEO Experiments & SEO Engine Room ..which have both gone first page for those terms at the time of writing, within 2 weeks of initial indexing.
The SEO Power page is a bit frustrating because it is an seo experiment again, with one “strong” link focused on our seocontest2008 experimental post. Some of the best SEO minds we know from our travels dont think this approach works. Some including us, do.
To recap, we are not taking part in this competition but are using the stiff and ever increasing competition to test some cutting edge SEO Theories in, and it would seem to us at this point that this page alone dropping in and out of the index is responsible for a position variation of about 10-12 places in the seocontest2008 search.
Just as soon as it comes live properly and stays that way we will hopefully see more clearly.
