SEO Case Study Update..

by seoibiza on 10, May, 2008

So it’s time for a final revisit to the site. From the start we themed our new business website as an seo demonstration, attempting to demonstrate seo by design in action.

We’ve talked about it in our seo case studies up until this point and apart from the ongoing work on small business seo etc, now feel we’ve gone as high as we can in our original aims

So at 28 weeks old it’s time to upshift a gear and go after some of the biggies.

For trophies of course, as we’re snowed under with work. But we now believe our site has enough strength to begin to get start getting seriously involved in some of the major money seo searches and we are about to do exactly that.

Having built the site on a flat architecture up until now, we are also now going to start working on the depth, and in doing so start targeting all the more generic SEO terms, such as * SEO Services * and * rank better/higher in google * – * SEO for Flash * – ** internet marketing ** – this is a big one, 70 million pages, but we’ll see..

- things like that.. :)

..and also opening our geo target area out again to cover SEO Services in Spain – we’ve added in further new pages, and renamed and 301′d a couple of existing pages as part of another seo experiment that will take about 6 months to yield it’s verdict, (more shortly on this) and have modified our internal linking quite extensively around the site.

You probably wont notice too much difference on the outside, but a lot of work has gone into this and we’re pretty confident that we’ll be first page in some of these fairly shortly.

The basic principle is that once you can rank for your main keywords, for example * seo services *, then you can just add in country pages at will, and gradually just invade well, wherever really..

It would amuse us a little for example, to outrank the whole of India’s booming SEO industry for SEO + their country’s name :) ..and if we can do that, we can likely take any country we want, it will be like the empire building of old.

Before long the whole world will kneel before the serps of the Ibicenc SEO Warriors and the Ancient Ibicenco Combat Arts of Search Engine Optimisation will once more reign supreme.

er.. sorry, …anyway, the new pages will doubtlessly be indexed quickly, and then spend several weeks dropping in and out of Google before we can judge their true potency, but as the whole sites changed anyway, we need a full re-caching before we can judge the new pages’ full strengths, once the whole site’s linkjuice powers up them up.

It will be probably 3-4 weeks until the changes reach full effect and will be interesting to see if it affects current positionings, or just adds in more as intended.

We’ll keep all our admirers duly informed with screenshots as usual ;)

“SEO Services” is a fairly competitive keyphrase. I like your idea about going after SEO India in the SERP’s!!!

’tis true.. seo services is a toughie, but there’s far lesser sites floating around at the #20 mark, so we think we should be able to get to there at least without too much trouble.

check back in a few weeks :)

It’ll be interesting to see how you get on with the big search terms, and at what point you feel like you’ve hit the preverbial brick wall against the guys who are well entrenched in the rankings.

hello mate how are you?

and yes it will indeed. ..have never been exactly short on confidence, but do know what you mean..

..but looking at that #15-25 range and thinking can do better than that :)

Pretty good cheers :)

even with page 2 results for the more generic terms I’d imagine you’d be able to bag a fair bit of geo targeting like you were saying with things like seo spain.

best of luck with it all though, I’ll definately keep my eyes peeled to see how you guys are doing.
