So we’ve been blathering on for a while now about our seo by design strategy with this site and making a lot of noise about some unimportant but (hopefully) humourous terms, and openly targeting the small business / business seo + services variants.
We have also been quietly beavering away in the background with some fairly heavy duty phrases we havent mentioned up until now, but are starting to show up in the first 2 pages of Google.com (unpersonalised of course) for some seo terms you probably wouldn’t really expect a 7 month old site could rank very well for..
like what you say? ..er. well, as of 1.00 am 23-06-2008…

quite nicely balanced across the phrase variations, dont ya think?
..this is superior seo design in action, it’s not about any one ranking in particular, it’s about covering as many of the keywords as possible, and ranking for as many variations of them across the board as possible.
We haven’t gone after any one main keyword or phrase at this stage, we’ve spread it out as evenly as we can across a broad spectrum of seo terms, all interplaying and backing each other up..
..and here come those longtails, with this particular one still #1 in a “phrase reversal”, – which as google often shows different results depending on the order in which you enter the words, usually implies a modicum of strength in the position.
Amusingly Yahoo seems to understand the scenario quite well..
Of course it all can, and no doubt will fluctuate, but its only been 7 months since we launched this site on a brand new domain, and we’re not going anywhere.
With the site surrently hovering just outside the #100′s for both seo and seo services, we suspect that just one big fat PR7 link saying “seo services” would probably now slam us into #1′s all over the place and maybe a top 10 for the holy grails of seo & seo services themselves.

Great progress…but, since your keywords include the word ‘optimisation’ and not the americanised ‘optimization’ , you shouldn’t expect a rank that is too high.
there is a certain amount of truth to that, but we have included the “americanized” word just enough to ensure we do show up, albeit a couple of places lower usually..
we cant really condone the Americans changing the Queen’s English, and Europeans (who we are targeting primarily) use the “S” rather than the “Z” we find.
