Ok in a rare second post in one day, because looks like we might be right, remember where you heard it first. Here .. Google update “Ibiza”
and again here earlier today Google update imminent?
Now Google groups confirm linkbuilding “hit”?
Plus here it is again this weekend’s new index. click the thumbnail. This is getting tedious. Either give us the first page or don’t, but we’ve only got 2 weeks till the site’s one year birthday, this was the target, stop the damn teasing already.
Edit Sat 13.30 – 01-11-08 - second index still in operation.
Superior SEO page showing at #40 for SEO here. see screenshot below, this is a different (or broken) index.
.
edit 13-11-08 – Follow on posts from this can be found here:
03 Nov – No Algo update – glitch?
08 Nov – Algo update? still looks like it here
12 Nov Google testing new SERP?
it’s still coming people…

Everything is back to normal now.
hmmm. on some sites, and some keywords but not on others.
& it’s only Saturday AM the real nonsense didn’t even start last weekend until Sat PM.
Well for “seo services” keyword, I found your website at 2nd page, not bad….but still u can do better right?
Hey Sai.
well eventually i would hope, but that’s not what all this is about though to be honest.
we really did build our site to experiment with more than anything, and are just fascinated with the two different sets of results and what might be happening.
will be posting again later today on this.
Noticed your thread on DP. I have been looking for my targetted words after I came back from a weeks holiday and I was startled to find that all results are messy – full of SPAM.
Most results have no relevancy at all. Sometimes the same URL appear 3/4 times in top 100 results.
Most probably they are experimenting with new algo and it is having technical problems.
Hi John.
is that SPAM as in “Sites Positioned Above Mine” ?
well you have to wonder don’t you, its a fairly radical difference.
has it finished? looks like we’re all over the place. pop by when youre passing?

Not back to normal at all. I am completely lost for an explanation as I can see no correlation between clients sites that have dropped. Only one factor rings true… it is only affecting the competitive keywords.
This makes me think that all the directory listings, directory categories, job sites, yell listings, ufindus, touchlocal results that have re-appeared in google.co.uk in the last few weeks have “pushed” many sites down the SERPs… Its a thought anyway…
maybe it’s not (our) site specific, maybe its something bigger? maybe its changes to something that’s affecting the nature or flow of linkjuice webwide?
if the sites that link to us, and the ones that link to them are affected then so would we be.
