Judging by the debate over the state of the SEO related Google results over on SEO Book’s SEO Police and Tad’s Onreact blog about Rand@SEOMoz “outing” SEO companies they find spamming it up with their new Linkscape tool, we think:
1) that having breached the very borders of the top 20 for “SEO” ourselves this morning (over on another of Google’s weekend indexes and thro hidemyass) with a showing at #21 (as highlighted by our mates over down under Tareeinternet SEO at DP here
So…. we better back off a bit before we put anybody’s noses out of joint, after all who are we to be ranking so goddamn high so fast?
“er hello!! sandbox? domain age factoring etc? who are these pups anyway?”
..Although we have great respect for the seo superstars, as we don’t really play the social media game with our blogging, preferring the more organic approach of just getting on with ranking things, and writing about it, and let it all come to us, we don’t really know anyone important yet either.
We don’t go to conferences, arent in on the scene or the jokes, and we are also relatively new to the game in comparison the the “ten year in” crew.
We therefore humbly apologise for taking the liberty of ranking well above and beyond our due seo status and will rectify the position immediately.

2) it looks like they’ve finally come up with a definitive reason that we need to join seomoz pro now, – to get at linkscape – the preliminary free version looks promising and the members info sounds rather tempting.
Not to mention if you were one of those SEO companies’ who’s ever maybe taken any easy chances with your link-building, outsourced, or anything a little on the wilder side, presumably you would think they wouldn’t go sniffing about for every little linky-skeleton in your closet if their outing you meant that you may not be able to keep up with your membership?
3) lastly directories still work** eh? who would have thought it?
**you have to click the first 3 links above to get this bit.
