Launching New Sites or Pages Strongly

by seoibiza on 10, December, 2008

It’s all go round here, it really is…

The latest sniper package is up and running here Ibiza photographer and handed over, but is refusing to index via the spec ops blog for 3 irritating days now..

It’s got to be said the old spec ops workhorse is not what she once was, its more or less 50/50 whether the latest post will even be cached these days unless we further link at it, and as this was a launch post and is also (hopefully) a relevant link at some point down the line, we damn well want it cached.  – ibiza photography !!

What’s the betting they’re both up there by the end of today now? :**See edit bottom of page

Anyway the boys have properly gone into overdrive and got about 3 more of these going live in the next couple of weeks, and the SEO Malta one that just went up at the weekend is doing OK, if not great yet.

So we don’t usually chat in too much detail about our SEO combat tactics but are feeling in the Xmas spirit already so are going to share one now.

Our #1 offpage optimization technique with launching new pages posts or even sites strongly (apart from making sure it’s a sniper in the first place) is to go back through your site and find the most relevant places to link at it from, in your old pages &/ posts.

“Forget other people’s blogs looking for IBL’s - make your own links”

Use the **site: search** and the keyword, (or this linkbuilding tool if that sounds too complicated) pick the top 4 or 5 posts, and slide a link into the text (ideally into already existing words) to your new post or site wherever you can.  If the old pages / posts actually rank for the new phrase (somewhere, anywhere top 100 is fine) so much the better, then..

This is a “Google relevant” link.

If they already rank for the term, you can also be fairly confident that they have some (real) PR and are then a link well worth having, in both relevancy and strength, and as the links come live gradually as Google recaches your site, up you go..

If you already have an established site, decent internal links are often all you need…

When you start thinking like this, you can also then start working phrases into current posts now, knowing that phrase is already there to use as link anchor for an upcoming post, further down the line, like say any of the bolded lines above ;)

…we’re in that seemingly endless waiting stage with several new sites now and it’s dull., good job we have plenty else to be getting on with.

**Edit 12-12-08 here she is at #2 ;)
