All the way back on 21st march 2008 Spec ops announced here (in their own unique style) that we were targeting 3 new phrases, one of them finally came home to roost tonight and it’s a nice one..

It fits in rather nicely with the latest SEO UK antics and as per the WordPress SEO content techniques session here’s the 3rd-in-the-series theme post, and it’s a “working post” as well.  watch and learn.

..if not we’ll explain in more detail in another WP SEO post in due course.

We actually sprouted mini sitelinks for this term a couple of weeks ago,  both us and the #1 authority “Business SEO” site created in May 2005, which has been at an unflinching #1 position since before we even started on building this site, so this feels a bit like reaching the peak of Mt. Everest.

Below them are the Mozzers, below that, Search Engine Watch, you know, SEO nobodies like that.  lol! surreal.

And since we set the geo targeting to UK via Google WMT 5 months ago the site has surged into the UK SERP on Google.co.uk, much stronger than it was on .com.

Were now inside the top 3 for  business SEO, small business SEO, business SEO services, lalala… and top 20 for all the dream keywords..

SEO service/s, SEO web design, even SEO.. with a site barely 18 months old

Almost everything we ever thought we probably ought to rank for, apart from maybe a few other (4 letter) one-worders other have suggested along the way..   i.e –   (“SERP” #13 TODAY TRY IT)

Don’t know if it will last, and don’t care much really either,  if it ranks any better we’ll have to take someone on just to deal with inquiries (we can’t take on) and ultimately we don’t really want to own the mountain anyway, just to know that we climbed it.

And we’d also like to be able to remember where that dickhead from that forum was who said:

“SEO demonstration..?” “..what do you want to rank for that for? ..nobody’s ever going to search for that..”

.. and go back and say, what do you think of them apples then?

UPDATE 28.04.09 – check the screenshot 8 hours later. This would not be there were it not for the strength of our site already around the main core phrase.
