One of the ways we’ve gotten our own site to rank so well from a standing start in a relatively short space of time was to do a lot of SEO work either free, or very cheap back in the day, ie SEO consultancy and / or work, basically in exchange for links – assuming of course that they were then happy to recommend us. This is one of the first of these we did, it’s a not-for-profit site called ABIA, or:-

It’s run (chaired) by the mother of a client (and good friend) whose own sites we also look after, but this one was always a labour of love as cash is always scarce in Not-for-Profit-land.

Well it’s just had a rebuild by the mighty D3R onto their SEO friendly CMS, and whilst that’s always good thing, in this case it’s also a little nerve-wracking because it already ranks so well, that if the rebuild affects it’s rankings at all, the only direction available for movement in nearly all the target keywords, is down.

If anyone is reading this wondering whether we would consider more Not-for-Profit SEO consulting, in exchange for links, the answer is yes, we would consider it on a case by case basis.

We’re actually working on another one as we speak, but as we are at full capacity constantly these days, the bar has been raised a bit, the criteria are a little tougher on what we need in return, unless of course you are an outstandingly deserving case in which case as we’re so nice we’d probably say yes anyway..

It’s always worth a try..

Luxury Brand SEO

We’re a lucky little SEO company really, what with being stationed in Ibiza in the first place, and with some of the lovely sites we get to work on, the bane of most SEOs lives is dull uninspiring sites to work on, and we don’t have too many of those.

This is partly due to being fussy about who and what we work on and with, but truth be told luck does play a big part in events, one lucky break can lead to all sorts of good things down the line.

Like this fab new client site, currently taking the traditional media by storm, www.luxehomeswap.com, which is another consulting project with our pals over at D3R web design, who themselves count as a very lucky break back in the day.

Luxe Home Swap

We are gathering a veritable plethora of luxury brand customers, from luxury hotels to luxury beds, and from luxury travel to luxury house swapping holidays , we’ve got them.

And the best bit about it is that there is apparently a fair amount of interest in home exchange holidays to Ibiza (who would’ve thought it? ) ..not to mention a couple of stunning Ibiza homes available for swapping, so as the imminent owners of a beautiful new luxury apartment in Ibiza, things are falling nicely into place now.

We’ve said it before and we are very likely to say it again, if you don’t have a blog integrated into your website you’re missing out on business seo opportunities.

Here’s a cute little website that belongs to a mate who also left the UK (London) for sunnier shores at around the same time we did. We’ve finally managed to convert him into the ways of the WordPress SEO warrior and integrated a blog into the site, you can see it here.

And randomly, another estate agency blog is going live at exactly the same time, this one belongs to R & R Ibiza, who were the Ibiza estate agents who actually sourced our very first rental apartment for us when we first arrived on these sunny shores, funny how things work out isnt it? ..years later, we get to return the favour.. :)

Now we’ll be seo-training them in the finer points of WordPress SEO warfare and you’ll be seeing their web presence blossoming in a chart near you soon..

We’ve been super busy since late November working on amongst (lots of) other things 2 different site rebuilds with the award-winning UK web development company D3R – this is the first to launch, the other will be along shortly..

It’s the fabulous online bed shop – thesleeproom.com – which although the previous version looked great, it was built on the least search-engine (and even maintenance) friendly system imaginable (ZEND?!!) and just wasn’t up to the job.

That’s all about to change.

SEO Ibiza v3.0 Hits the Streets

If you’ve been here before, you must have noticed the new look seoibiza.com? ..It’s actually much more just than a new look, as you can see we have gone dynamic. We’ll be playing with it for a few days yet so apologies if you hit empty pages or 404s, but its close enough to give to Google now, so welcome..

Versions 1 & 2 of the site were only ever built to rank, and to experiment on, we always had enough work from our referral and contact network, and didn’t really care about fresh leads, it was a ranking machine pure and simple, whether anybody liked the site enough to call us was never the raison d’etre.

The old template by the mighty dcarter (left live here for nostalgic reasons ..did an amazing job but now it’s time to take it to the next level as manual HTML editing gets a bit dull after 50+ pages..

And what better to build a next generation superior seo website on, than our very own superior seo system on wordpress?

It’s meant moving things around, and we’ve gone a directory deeper with the main site to allow us room to expland sideways as well.

As always though, even though it looks a bit prettier, and is much easier to read, it’s still our testing ground, and were watching a few things carefully, especially ther effects of the major URL re-writing, and it’ll be interesting to see if we can maintain, or even improve rankings during and after the migration / transition process. We’re also trialling a few new SEO plug-ins and we’ll be doing full write ups and plug-in lists when we’re happy with it all.

We’ve also been working on Blog HQ which has been face-lifted and a few of the pages there brought across here.
